Himeji Leather

HAVEN's fall collection leans on Himeji, a city in Japan's Hyogo Prefecture where leatherworking goes back more than a thousand years. The Turbine is the standout. It is cut from drum-dyed Japanese sheep leather, soft and supple from day one, in a deep brown called Earth or in black.

A Flight Jacket, Rebuilt

The shape borrows from military flight jackets: a boxy body, a wide collar, and heavy ribbed wool at the cuffs and hem. Two patch pockets sit at the hands, and a zippered utility pocket rides on the sleeve where pilots kept their pens.

Built for Weather

Under the leather sits a GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER membrane that shuts out wind, plus PrimaLoft Gold insulation for warmth without bulk. The Vancouver shop designs for wet coastal winters, and this jacket is made to handle one.

Price

The HAVEN Turbine Jacket sells for $2,220 online and at HAVEN's stores in Vancouver and Toronto.
