Garmin’s fēnix 9 Pro adds a titanium case to the flagship outdoor watch line
Announced August 25, 2026, fēnix 9 and fēnix 9 Pro refresh Garmin’s multisport watches with brighter AMOLED displays, Garmin Epic activity storytelling, and Pro models with satellite and LTE connectivity.
Titanium arrives on fēnix Pro
Garmin introduced fēnix 9 and fēnix 9 Pro on August 25, 2026. The Pro line is the first fēnix to use a titanium watch case, which Garmin says is joined to polymer through nano-molding to keep thickness and weight down while keeping a metal exterior. Sizes span 43 mm, 47 mm, and 51 mm. The 51 mm Pro model gets a 1.5-inch AMOLED display—Garmin says that is 15 percent larger than fēnix 8 without growing the case. Pro AMOLED brightness is listed up to 3,000 nits.
Training story and phone-free links
Both models add Garmin Epic, which groups activities recorded over days or longer into one shareable story in Garmin Connect, including health and performance data and photos. Stamina zones and a stamina curve are meant to show how endurance changes with training history. Select fēnix 9 Pro watches add built-in satellite and LTE connectivity for voice, text, and SOS when an active plan and coverage allow. Garmin notes important limitations versus other inReach devices and asks buyers to check regional service details before relying on them in remote travel.
Battery and the buy
Garmin lists up to 29 days of smartwatch battery on the largest fēnix 9, up to 31 days on the largest Pro AMOLED, and up to 57 days on solar Pro models under its outdoor-lux assumptions. For anyone already in the fēnix ecosystem, the Pro titanium case, brighter maps, and optional phone-free messaging are the clearest upgrades in this refresh.
